Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is currently offering a Strengthening Families 10-14 group. Strengthening Families 10-14 is a family communication class designed for families with youth age 10-14. It aims to helps caregivers hone nurturing skills that support their children, teach caregivers how to effectively discipline and guide their youth, give youth a healthy future orientation and an increased appreciation of their caregivers, and teach youth skills for dealing with stress and peer pressure. This group will start Monday, February 26th. It will run for 7 weeks (February 26th-April 9th) and will run from 5:00pm-7:30 pm. Class will be held at the CMH office in Centreville (677 East Main, Centreville). It includes free dinner, and is intended for both youth and adults. This classes is free of charge, but families are expected to consistently attend sessions. Registration is required.
