Combine a bit of tennis, a touch of badminton, and a helping of ping pong and what do you get??? Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country! Although it appears very similar to tennis, key differences (the slower speed of the ball and a smaller court size) make it accessible to a wider range of players, particularly seniors. Pickleball has great health benefits: it lowers blood pressure, burns body fat, improves balance and handeye coordination, and is great for your social life. Warning — Pickle ball can be extremely addictive! If you know how to play, come join us!! Pickleball Guidelines: - Please ensure that you are wearing non-marking shoes designed for court use. If you’re not sure check with a staff person. - Water only in a closable container while on the courts (no coffee/sports drinks/food allowed). - When on the pickleball court, please be sensitive to others using the facility and keep noise to a minimum, including when walking behind the curtain. - Enter the court area at the designated time if the court is in use. Pickleball Court Reservations: Pickleball court reservations are available from hour time slots on Tuesdays. To reserve a time on the court, you can do so in person at the HealthTRAC of by calling the HealthTRAC Front Desk at 278.8722. HealthTRAC will provide nets and balls. Location:

f you love shopping and searching for hidden treasures, this journey is for you! The US 12 Heritage Trail Garage Sale is aptly called, “Michigan’s Longest Garage Sale!” Every year individuals clean out their attics and stake out their front yards along the US-12 corridor stretching over 180 miles from New Buffalo to Detroit. You will find everything from antiques, collectibles, furniture, dishware, fresh garden produce, homemade jams and jellies, live entertainment and much more. Perhaps even more interesting than the “treasures” are the people you will meet along the way. The sales can be found along the highway at homes, farms, businesses, parking lots and fields. Some areas will have large numbers of vendors while others may be scattered. As you drive the country roads on your quest, you will be privy to incredible stories related to the individuals and the items they sell and see a plethora of items that only your grandmother could love. Most importantly most come to see the unusual and socialize. It is Americana at its best. Please remember to drive safely and to slow down while traveling US-12 and pay special attention when parking and crossing the highway during the sale.
